I thrive on all aspects of creative assignments — from research and interviewing to writing and editing. I’ve written and edited articles on topics that span private equity investing, Internet commerce, Web-based network device management, education, religious traditions and rituals, and architectural doors and hardware. I’ve also written book reviews and news editorials, and I have edited a manuscript for a children’s book.

While working in the News & Research department of Scudder Weisel Capital, a San Francisco investment banking firm focused on venture capital and private equity investments for high-net worth individuals, I copy edited investment articles, research reports, and white papers by Thomas Weisel Partners’ analysts, and marketing publications. My freelance copy editing work includes copy editing manuscripts for the premiere and first several print issues of eCompany Now, published by the FORTUNE Group at Time Inc. Other publications to which I have contributed as a writer or copy editor include Line 56, Communication Systems Design, Kansas City Nursing News, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle, and Explore: Thought and Discovery at the University of Kansas.

As a public relations manager in the late 1990s for embedded networking software company Rapid Logic Inc. (bought by Wind River Systems Inc.), I wrote newsletters, marketing brochures, press releases, and speaking abstracts.

Currently, I write and edit Web site copy and marketing materials for DOORDATA Solutions, Inc., the first technology solution for commercial door inspections that has been endorsed and licensed by the Door and Hardware Institute. Just prior to this, I wrote and edited informational and promotional pieces for Sierra Pacific Sales & Consulting, Inc.
